Noura Hodhodi is an Iranian composer, classical guitarist based in Amsterdam.
She currently studies composition at the Conservatory of Amsterdam with Willem Jeths, and Richard Ayres.
Her music draws on the rich traditions of Iranian folk music, combining them with contemporary classical techniques, intricate rhythmic structures, and influences from contemporary jazz. Through her compositions, she explores the meeting point between cultural heritage and modern musical expression, creating new musical languages that connect tradition with experimentation.
Her work has been performed by professional ensembles and emerging musicians across Europe and the United States. In 2022, she was awarded First Prize in the Young Women’s Composition Competition.
Noura’s music has been performed at numerous events and festivals, including the Bruckner Festival at Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ and the Hear and Now Festival at De Duif in Amsterdam.
